I'm planning to cycle New Zealand before heading to Australia to visit family and friends (Sydney and Brisbane) also on my bike. Will be trying to pick up work where possible (I'm a carpenter). Also I'm epileptic although luckily its well controlled if anyone has any advice about any of these ideas I would be very grateful.
It's a mighty long way from Brisbane to Sydney and the main highways are extremely busy. Are you sure you want to cycle all that distance? I'd jump on a bus if I were you.
