was gonna fly out to Thailand mid-January and look at stayin out there for upto 6 months and travel around South East Asia.

i travelled through vietnam in '10 and am heading back out to india, and then south east asia again in mid-january. It would be cool to travel with you at some point. i'm hoping to see cambodia, thailand and laos after india, when i was in asia this year i've managed to make some friends who live in those countries so accomodation would be very cheap/free!
Do you have any countries in particular you wanted to see?

When I have more of an idea about where I'm plannin on goin I will definately be in contact...In the mean time, you don't kno of any decent places to stay in Bangkok for the first few days I'm there do you? Was thinking $25/night kinda place where I might be able to meet a few other like minded travellers. Also thinkin about gettin the sleeper train down to the South, you got any tips on where to stop off on the way or wether its worth just jumpin straight on a plane to Samui?
Daisy, sounds good to me! I was gonna start off in Thailand but I'm open to travel where ever really. Was thinkin of Cambodia,Laos,Vietnam,Phillipines,Malaysia,Hong Kong. Maybe not all of them but they're the places I wouldn't mind visiting. I know people
in Hong Kong and the Phillipines as well so could maybe get sorted out there if you are there too.

I did South-East Asia on the first leg of my round the world trip in September 2009, and I am ending it by going back to England via there next February/March. Fantastic place.
It is dirt cheap so for $25 a night you should be able to get a very nice place indeed. I was paying around £8 a night for a decent place, we were staying on Soi Rambutri only a stones through from the Khao San Road, but far enough away to be able to get a decent nights sleep.
