Hi, I am planning a trip to India in Nov 11. I would really like to experience living in the village, getting first hand knowledge of the culture and the day to day routine. Anyone that can advise who I can contact for this type of experience. I dont have a schedule as yet, but would like to hear from other travellers visiting India during this month. Maybe I can plan around your dates....
hi suraya..nice plan as someone truly said you can enjoy Indian culture more in village then any tourist place so if you plan to go in india and then in village then i prefer choose -snip- and when you reach delhi ask people live there for nearest city and in way to city many village come so you can stay there and enjoy the beauty of village

Since you are thinking about visiting Indian Village, therefore i would like to tell u that instead of residing in a village you can go for Chowkhi Dhani villege in Rajasthan, The Village offers a glimpse into almost every aspect of traditional Rajasthani life, such as the festivities of a village fair. The décor and ambiance reflect the simple beauty of a prosperous village. Machaans and platforms dot the area, charpais or rustic cots are laid out, and walls of the mud houses are decorated with colorful paintings.
You can tour the village on foot, with stops for a camel or elephant rides. The more adventurous can take a tour on the horse- or bullock-cart. The many shops of the Village offer traditional goodies, such as hand-printed textiles or other handicrafts. There is also a photo studio, where you can get dressed in the traditional garb and get your picture taken.
