Does anyone know the latest on the floods?
I was on Koh Pha Ngan during the southern flooding and got the ferry across to Surat Thani a couple of days ago and then managed to get a minivan up to Bangkok. The first few hours of the journey were through flooded areas with the occasional piece of road where we'd be driving through a foot or so of water, but after a few hours the roads were totally dry. Anyway, the journey from Surat Thani to Bangkok is doable by road now. However, I actually wanted to go overland down to KL but that wasn't possible because further south was even more badly flooded. That was a couple of days ago though, so hopefully it will be starting to improve by now.
