Previously overstayed in schengen zone- trouble next trip?

Hello!

"... I've done all kinds of research and read all kinds of forums. I can't seem to find my answer and I don't know where to find this information..."

==============================

That's because there is no black-and-white answer to your question.

You could slide right in without a glitch... you could be turned away... It's impossible to predict because there is no way to know what kind of a red flag (or not) is on your file and there's no way to know what mood the Immigration official will be in when you step up to the booth.

Roll the dice. Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

yeah, it depends on the luck of the draw. i overstayed Britain by years and NZ by 3 months. in both instances, the immigration officer didnt scrutinize the passport's inner pages, just the front identification to confirm the photo with my face.

it is like russian roulette. just take the risk and live with it

I got fined and banned for overstaying an Egyptian visa for 12 hrs.

Ivs! How did this turn out?? I agree there arent any blogs regarding this issue!!! I did about the same thing with my permit that i had to stay for school but expired a while back but the school continued to allow me to study there without...so i didnt make any problems until leaving amsterdam about 1.5 months ago. I have 1.5 weeks vacation and want to go visit holland since my return ticket is there but i am so scared since they did make a "report" on me, someone should post a number or what consulate/embassy we can contact to get more information,,,,,it should not be a guessing or trial and error thing, this is serious !!! Let me know and hope you got in no problems!!!!

Honestly?

You can't Google the Dutch Embassy in your own country to get their contact info? How about trying to Google Dutch Immigration?

Cheers,
Terry

i have been in contact with the dutch embassy where im currently at, they are totally useless, they tell me the same exact thing the immigrant chief at schipol told me. i have asked them about "considerate pardons" since I never worked in the netherlands, and had legal permits to stay when i was there. the embassy/consulate act as if they can't do anything but i am almost positive they can especially on terms if you are not a criminal and are only passign through with a in transit ticket...right?? the chief of immigration, did mention that if i was in transit to another NON SCHENGEN country that it would be okay, but i am trying to get into amsterdam for a few days for Easter until my next work project and then continue. think this is possible?????????????

Ivs, i would definitely in your case go to istanbul even make a vacation out of it. then fly back into europe but stay far far far away from Germany, Netherlands, Belgium for that matter and just because Switzerland complys with schengen laws, I would stay away from there too.
