Are you not breaking the rules of Global forum?
The topics of signatures and avatars have been covered in System Talk on several occasions. There are numerous reasons they are not available for use on this site: 1) prevents self-promotion, 2) prevents outside promotion, 3) just messy in general appearance and 4) controls spam - just to name a few.
Global Forum Rules, if I am not mistaken, are the rules that govern all areas of a particular site - hence the 'global' aspect - and put in place by the Administrators. These rules are subject to change at the discretion of the Administrators of that singular site. (I may be incorrect.) I have visited many travel sites where 'global' rules are in place, yet do not allow signatures or avatars.
If I take your username, 'signature' at the end of the above post and the website listed in your profile, I can easily deduce you want to promote your own forum via Travellerspoint. I doubt that will be happening.
ps: Maybe you should have read TP's 'global' rules before posting. Just a thought.

Definitely I want to promote my site but I am contributing to your forum. If you contribute in my site I would like to contribute to your site without any promotion but you can promote your site as much as possible.
Your site has friend request option, grouping option and other facilities but why not signature, signature is the right of contributor.
Like m,e no other blogger or site owner will like to visit your site after this kind of happening.
If you like social networking you must be open with some facilities which will be helpful for both site owners.

Many users like this site and return to it because there is less promotion and spam when compared with other travel sites, which seem to come hand in hand with signatures, etc..
If you were a regular visitor you would also recognise that many site owners of large sites are in fact members here and they do not have a problem with the rules.
They respect the rules outlined and supported by the site owners, admins, moderators and users.
You have the right to your opinion but then so do the rest of us.
If are a contributor who is consistencly helpful with relevant information then people will check out your profile and there you can advertise yourself but as a new member is it too soon for self promotion.

Wrong. It is an option available to contributors on sites which allow them. Period.

Wrong again. Bloggers and site owners are not a finite 'pool' of people. You just happen to like the TP stats and are looking for a piece of the pie.

Site growth and partnerships will increase when social networking is done effectively and with skill. It's been proven to be quite ineffective through the use of signatures and random link exchanges. You don't have to take my word on it. Your traffic stats will tell the tale even in the short term.
Members contribute on TP because they have and/or can answer inquiries. They also appreciate not being bombarded with promotional crap in every other thread via signatures. Thank you to TP's 'global' rules for that one.

Your forum has not option for user signature.
Correct, and it's not coming either.
So, if you can update your system let me know, I will contribute to your forum only with my blog signature.
Actually, and please don't take this too harshly, that's the EXACT reason we don't allow it. The kind of members that will only contribute if they can leave a signature are the kind that we'd prefer post elsewhere. They don't join sites to be helpful, and that's what TP is all about.
Best of luck with your site. I hear Lonely Planet might still allow signatures...
