You will most likely have to buy a JOD 10 (EUR 10) visa at the immigration counter. It is very simple, basically you will just have to buy a stamp. So, no extra process, application is required. Have some change in any of the major currencies so you can exchange just enough to buy the stamp.
Typically, if you want to transit and you continue flying with the same airline, you will pick up your luggage at the final destination. In rare cases, you will have to collect your bags and check-in again. Best to check it with the airline.
