Travel with laptop?

Hello everyone,

Hello!

most people travel with small laptops in latin america.

you can just simply wrap it in your clothes. those will protect it.
biggest threat will be theft or robbery - read travel advice... also, be careful when you load your backpack in the back of a bus where the engine is - it melt all my electronic stuff....

happy travels!

I would suggest ultraportable laptops. They are much smaller (9-13 inch screen), have a longer battery life and are weight less.

Hey,
thanks for the replies!
Yeah I was also thinking a small laptop since they seem easier and lighter to carry around.
Kichikacha, when I keep my laptop in my backpack, as you mention, isnt it even more prone to get stolen on rooftops? What about carrying it with you in your carry on luggage?
Also, wont it get wet, since I read its really humid and rains a lot there?
Sorry for all those questions.

Hi,

i agree of carrying your laptop in your backpack.
the weight would be distributed in your arms so it will be lighter to carry.
to prevent from being stolen, use a bag that has high security features.
perhaps a thick material yet lightweight.
it should be waterproof too to protect from rains.

i also suggest that our laptop or laptop bag should have a tracking device.
as an anti-theft and theft-recovery feature.
