I didn't think much of Brisbane though down south on the Gold Coast is nice.
Melbourne is a busy city and I liked it. I think you have a better chance of getting a job there. Some employment agencies in Melbourne:

Melbourne is a much larger city and more diverse, vibrant, etc. I have liked it well enough that I settled here when I backpacked through many years ago!
