South America Itinerary and help with Colombia to Cuzo! :)

Hi All,

Hi

I'm currently travelling in SA, and although I haven't been to Ecuador or Colombia, from what I've heard from other travellers, you could probably stretch the Colombia leg and visit Cartagena & Medellin, and have about 2 weeks in Ecuador - this would be long enough there. Colombia is supposed to be amazing, everyone raves about it!

Also, Buenos Aires is incredible but maybe you could visit Salta and Mendoza as well, on your way to Chile - both those places are great and worth a visit. There are plenty of buses from Mendoza to Santiago too.

You've squeezed in a lot into a short space of time but it is do-able. Try and do the Salt Flats tour while you're in Bolivia, it's one of the best things we've done while in SA.

Hope that helps

E

We are about to depart for south america next week and are doing peru/ecuador & colombia over 6 weeks, We were going to try to make it up to Cartagena but since the bus ride from Bagota is 22hrs one way, It just doesn't seem feasible for us due to time restraints, so we are just hitting Cali, Popyan and Villavicencio and ending in Bogota. Your route seems very similar to ours, but just going opposite (working down as apposed to up).

Good luck!
