Hey guys. Just wondered if anyone had any advice or experiences with TEFL courses in Thailand? Im looking to do one through teachabroadthailand.com in August for 4 weeks in Bangkok and just wondered if anyomne had done it or was interested in doing it too?
Also, the course that Im looking at is a premium course of 4 weeks in Bangkok with accomodation included and visas etc, is that expensive?? One of my friends is doing a 3 week one for £800 just dont wanna be ripped off :-( xx
I did the teachabroadthailand.com course last October in Koh Samui.
All and all the course was very thorough and included all aspects, and beyond, what you would expect from a TEFL course. Only small complaint is in the delay of our Amazon voucher/travel handbook that myself and my partner were waiting for. The trainer was very enthusiastic teacher and easily approached.
It's not the cheapest course around but I would thoroughly recommend it. The company sponsored us for a one year working visa before we arrived and we had a full time coordinator, Leon, who was there to assist us with anything we needed. He also helped us find a job placement in Phuket for me and my partner. I met a guy at our school who did a TEFL course with another company (I can't remember the name of it) but they didn't get half the stuff we got!
They met us at the airport and took us to our accommodation in a cool little beach hut and we got a welcome meal with the group.
