That sinking feeling...

So about three and a half months ago I got back to England after my first ever proper stint travelling, 18 months spent in South-East Asia, Oz, New Zealand and Fiji. It was without a doubt the best time of my life.

I know what you mean mate !!!

I also know what you mean. I hate this whole counting down to the weekend thing.

I am coping by thinking ahead / planning my next trip. It gives you something to look forward to rather than being stuck in a never ending rut.

I can totally sympathise as I know exactly how you feel! I live for my next trip and I always have one to plan. I agree it can be soul-destroying counting down the days until the weekend, which always goes too quickly and then it's Monday morning again. Just try to see work as a means to travel: it's your ticket to your next adventure.

Yes, I am planning my next trip, it is keeping me going! South America I think is next on the agenda, but it may have to wait until 2013/14. Still it is something to look forward to and as you all say, start planning towards.

How do other people cope with this?

Alcohol.

I used to have a job which allowed me to travel with work, which was good because it both provided a decent income AND fulfilled my travel needs. Plus, because I was travelling alot, I collected a boat load of air miles and am still - 4 years after giving it up - still flying for free.

Eventually that didn't fulfil my needs enough, and I moved to another country.

And, alcohol.
