Disneyland Hong Kong

I know it's not the real deal like in California or Florida, but since those are pretty far away for me and I only have a short break coming up, I was wondering if Disney Hong Kong might be fun? I found a for it on Groupon and thought it might be a fun option for my upcoming week-long holiday....and my BF always wanted to go!

I was there in January, and it's quite fun. Well, my 5 year old daughter definitely thought so It was the middle of holidays though, so quite busy, and the long lines for all the fun attractions are not very cool. But it's an experience that's definitely worth a day of your time

I was there last month... I have never been to Disneyland or Disney world before so for me I enjoyed a lot. I guess it really depends on what you are expecting in Disneyland HK. If you are a huge roller coaster fan, than this park might seems weak for you. The only 'scary' (if you will) roller coaster is space mountain and my sister said is much weaker than the one in California.

However, if you are huge fan of Disney and just wanna hang out in a park and find your childhood memories, it’s pretty nice. It’s much smaller than the US ones, so can be visit in a day, things are a lot closer so less walking time, and more playing time. Also would be best to go on Mon – Thurs, because is less people and you don’t have to wait as long for rides. I was there on a Wed and I only waited no more than 15mins for each ride, some of them I was able to go back few times. Also if you going to be there in Oct, you will catch some of the Halloween theme stuff.

Also if you do end up going, you should check out the restaurant Crystal Lotus in Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel (there is free shuttle that will take you to the hotel from the park). Their special is Disney-Style Dim Sum, they make dim sum in the shape of Disney characters. However they are a bit on the pricey side and do require 3 days advance reservation for weekday, but this will be the only Disneyland you will find this kind of Dim-sum... well for now till the one in Shanghai opens

Well… I should stop now before I start writing a book here… hehe!!! If you need more info about Disneyland HK or just HK in general, feel free to ask…. I usually go to HK every 2-4 years interval and I just came back from a month long trip there… so I should be able to answer most of the questions

HI, I will be visiting for the 3rd time the HK disneyland. I grew not knowing any disney character because there was no TV in our home. So disneyland for me is not just a fantasy; a dream come true in fact. I know that HK disneyland is smaller than Japan's but it is worth visiting over and over again, especially for me that it's the only nearest one and the one that I can reach easily. Though this is my 3rd time, I am still and always will be excited to step inside this dreamland. I heard that the toy storyland is in the making the second time I was there and I hope that it's operating now. You should go there and express the child in you.

Hi - when do you plan on going to Disney Land?

Just thought you should know, the Halloween Parade is awesome but it will only be on until 31st Oct. I am a 27 yr old girl and I went with a gf of mine last Sat and boy the child in me just sprung out.
We went after 5PM. The effects better at night. Also HK Disney is celebrating its 5th anniversary so its all the more special. Do check it out and tell us what you think.

Cheers!

I am old, but I would still watch Justice League and the Xmen animated series... and even He-man and G.I. Joe.

But Disneyland Hong Kong, even if I was a major Disney animation fan, I thought it was for KIDS... I was with my favorite friend in the whole world, but still, I had more strolling in the parks in HK....

I went there and they didn't have the PARADE and the best ride, the virtual ride was closed... AND WE PAYED THE REGULAR PRICE....

But if you have a kid.... It's the best place on earth....

Been going to Disneyland since the 50's. Lived, for years, within 10 minutes of the original. Visited over 200 times.

Visited Hong Kong Disneyland a couple years ago, during the rainy season. Had a great time. Of course, Staying at the Disneyland Hotel didn't hurt!

Although Hong Kong Disneyland may be a disappointment to "thrill" seekers, it is still Disney. If you haven't experienced Disney, you should really enjoy it. The fit and finish is unlike most other amusement parks. Disney is truly a class act!

Thanks for your feedback everyone! I think it'll be fun! Not sure when I'll go yet but probably wont make it for the Halloween parade (thanks for the tip though!)
