Ive got a working holiday visa for australia My plan is to travel and work as i go along so i dont run low on money. Im starting in Melbourne mid december and working my way up to Cairns eventually with the Oz experience bus. If anyone has worked in australia or is out there now.....
Speaking quite generally, it's not too hard to find work. But the sort of work you will most likely find will be short term that probably won't pay that well, but it should be enough to keep you going.
The best places are major cities and tourist hubs.
Hey... I'm working in Melbourne at the minute. It took about a week of phone calls and emails, and I ended up getting the job through a recruitment agency. So my advice, register with every recruitment agency in the city, and then go around the hostels and look at the job ads on the notice boards!

It really depends on your skills and work history, but it took me just over a week to find something in Brisbane. That was after spending all my time applying for jobs on Seek.com, taking my cv into places and going round tons of agencies. I have 6 years worth of HR/admin experience but that doesnt seem to matter a great deal when there's a lot of people after the same jobs. For the job I did get, I had a phone interview, then a group interview then a solo interview (a 3.5hr process). Some people get lucky but for most people it just takes hard work and perseverance!
