Is 4 months enough?

Hey! my original plan was to go round the world visiting South America, NZ, OZ and Asia and i was going to spread this trip over a year. I have recently been offered a place in University starting in September and i leave my job in january so i have between 4th of january - the end of August to get in as much travelling in as possable. I still want to visit all these continents and explore them as much as i can but i am planning to spend just 1 month in each continent totalling 4 moths travelling. Will it be worth it!? or should i consider loosing one of the continents?

Hi there,

It is possible to visit NZ in a month, it's also possible to visit for example the east of OZ in a month, but with Asia and South America you have to stick to one or maybe two countries. Although South East Asia (Thailand, parts of Laos, Cambodia and south of Vietnam) can be combined in a month, visiting some of the highlights.
A month in South America means sticking to one of the countries like Brazil or Chile, or maybe a combination of northern Chile, Bolivia and southern Peru for example.

But, it's better and cheaper to just buy a return ticket to Oz or Nz, and make a stopover in Asia. Or better: just buy a cheap return flight to Malaysia from London and cheap tickets from there to Oz and Nz. More time in south east Asia, Oz and NZ and much cheaper regarding air travel!

have fun though and if you can: make it 6 months or so... You'll regret it afterwards maybe.

Cheers
Mike
