Latvia or Poland?

On a trip to Europe next June I have the opportunity to spend a few days in either Latvia or Poland.
Any opinions on which is preferable in terms of the music scene [comparing Riga, Poznan, Krakow or Warsaw]?
I'm interested in opera, symphonic works and jazz.

I like both. Krakow is really quite something and you're sure to find some jazz and classics. However, the town of Ventspils on Latvia's Baltic coast really springs to life in Summer and is only a couple of hours from Riga. The town theatre/concert hall is famed for its diversity; jazz, blues, opera, theatre etc. It really is a town with a BIG cultural heart. And the beaches are quite impressive too.
Hope that's a small help.

Many thanks zaksame....do you also have any comments on Poznan?

I have a huge soft spot for Krakow. It also has great jazz!

Definitely Warsaw and its Summer Jazz Days I went there last summer and it was incredible ! And off the record, if you're looking for a place to stay I recommend Dizzy Daisy Riviera Hostel. We had a great time with the hostel staff plus the rates are very good.

I've never been to Poland but had a great time in Latvia. Very bohemian.
