Phnom Penh is probably the fastest, easiest place to buy your VN visa. It is not worth your time/effort IMO to go over to the VN Embassy and do it yourself. I have used Lucky, Lucky Motorcycle on Monivong many times, but most GHs many other businesses will do it for you as well. Fast costs more when buying your VN visa. Allow a few days and you will save yourself some money.

Is it easy in Siem Reap too? dont know if i'll be in Phonm Penh for long enough, thinking of spending 3 days there before heading to HCMC! What will i need to give them? Passport + passport photos?

I don't think Siem Reap has a VN Consulate. You can get a VN visa in: 1, 2 or 3 days while in PP. Use your GH or another business that offers 2 day service. Check prices, they vary. Always have plenty of passport photos with you. Any photo shop in PP will sell you additional photos if needed. Your GH or will keep your passport while they obtain your VN visa. You can obtain your VN visa in if you are going there. Great beaches/water, not expensive. The guy will sell you a VN visa while you stand there and chat with him. Your best option IMO.
