hey all, just wondering have many people been to Canada in Nov? Is there any one going there ? Is it very cold?... have a bit of money saved few weeks from work free and want to do a bit of travelling.. either Canada or Australia any info tips ot advice would be fantastic
Cheers

Well, those are two completely opposite ends of the weather spectrum.

Take for granted Canada will be cold in November. It's not even the start of winter but temps can be frigid and possibly snow on the ground. Two questions: 1) which part of November do you plan to visit, and 2) what type of activities you are interested in - ie: skiing, etc?

:

Vancouver, BC: 37 / 48 °Fahrenheit (3 / 9 °Celsius)
Edmonton, AB: 14 / 32 °F, (-10 / 0 °C)
Yellowknife, NWT: 0 / 14 °F, (-18 / -10 °C)
Inukjuak, NU: 16 / 27 °F, (-9 / -3 °C)
Winnipeg, MB: 18 / 32 °F, (-8 / 0 °C)
Ottawa, ON: 28 / 41 °F, (-2 / 5 °C)
Toronto, ON: 32 / 45 °F, (0 / 7 °C)
Montréal, QC: 30 / 41 °F, (-1 / 5 °C)
Halifax, NS: 32 / 45 °F, (0 / 7 °C)
St. John's, NF: 32 / 43 °F, (0 / 6 °C)

Here are the temp forecasts (averages) for Australia for the same month (scroll down the page):

I'm sure our Canadian and Australian members will be able to give you more. Again, it all depends on your interests and the areas of either country you are looking at visiting at that time.

wow!!thank you so much you went to such effort to get the temperatures-thank you so much!!

hey all, Whats Canada like in Nov?

still one of the biggest country...

pick autralia in november instead

November is not the best time to visit my native country, Canada. But, if you like to ski, some of the Rocky Mountain ski resorts should be starting their ski season by late November. Depends on the weather, of course.

A month earlier, or a month later, would be better, in most parts of Canada. Right now you can still see a lot of beautiful fall colour in Ontario and Quebec. In December and January there are winter sports, and you can go skating on the Rideau Canal in Ottawa, or catch the Winter Carnival in Quebec (starts January 27).

I live in China now, and I really miss Christmas in Canada, with all the Christmas lights and snow. That's one of the best times to visit Canada!

Depends on where you're going to go. If you're expecting warm weather, it's definitely the wrong country, but 'winter' differs a lot between provinces.

Coastal BC, for example, is quite mild and you'll find it more like Ireland that 'typical Canada'. The prairies get quite cold earlier!

The list above is pretty accurate I think.

Oh also, if you do go to BC then, make sure you have wellies, a rain coat and an umbrella! It rains a lot then!

Yeah, i am coming to Canada too, no idea about this country. Very good experience from you.

I am going to canada to early next year,i have been before and from memory november is not to bad, january and feb are the worst months, where abouts in canada are u going ?
