I'm hoping to soon take a weekend trip with my gf to London to pamper ourselves a bit after her exam period is over. Looking for some recommendations for a hotel (or B&B) that offers just a bit _more_. Someplace charming, rather than faceless, with welcoming owners, rather than impersonal employees, or with beautiful handcarved furniture, rather than standard business accommodation decor variant 3A. Maybe having an in-house spa, or a really good and lavish breakfast, or just something which lifts it up above the norm. We'd consider both 'budget' accommodation and more high-end (boutique) hotels, just as long as it has atmosphere/personality. Any personal recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Heh, no one has ever stayed in a hotel in London that they can actually recommend? I wish I was more surprised than I am...
