The drive between Toronto to Vancouver would be like 50 hours of driving if you didn't go into the States and took no breaks. So one or two weeks is probably not feasible for that distance.
Yeah, that's true. So maybe 2 or 3 weeks could be better=) I'm flexible.

Alaska is really far, like from edmonton, at least 36 hours just to dawson city, yt.
Did you consider the train? They have passes I think are reasonable for students
By train, it seems to be more expensive than the plane (with the youth plan) :/
