I'll be there myself in November - it's a great place
As your starting in LP and departing ??? I would suggest travelling north to visit Nong Kwaiw and Mong Ngoi then head east to Huay Xai (Thai border) and take the 2 day slow boat (overnight at Pakbeng) back to LP.
Totally recommend spending a day at Kwang Si waterfalls recreation park 30kms outside of LP.
