Travel Visa

Hi I'm Flying in to Bangkok on 16th July and I've heard I can get my Visa at the airport?

Darren,
UK citizens will get a free 30 day visa waiver when flying into BKK. I does state that you need a return or onward air ticket, but Thai Imm. do not check. You must leave before your 30 days are up. You can buy a visa for Laos when you enter, land or air. $35. Buy your VN visa while in Vientiane. Most GHs and many businesses will do it for you. Cambodia will sell you a 30 day visa on arrival at their airport or land border, $20. If you cross into Thailand from Cambodia, you will get a free 15 day visa waiver. If you need more than 15 days in Thailand, buy a tourist visa while in Phnom Penh or fly back into BKK. Good luck with your planning.

You definitely should spend some time googling the countries you are visiting and the visas you require. You don't say how long you are spending in each country, but it might be more advantageous and in the end cheaper to apply for a actual tourist visa for Thailand. This gives you up to 60 days with an extension you can buy in Thailand for another 30 days.

Be careful when you make your crossing into Cambodia, there is a visa scam the immigration officials run, where they ask for extra money to process your visa. I was ready to fight tooth and nail, but the immigration guy I got was so nice, that when he asked I figured it was money well spent to help his family. It was only like $5 extra. You can pay it and be friendly with them and know you've helped out someone, or you can fight and refuse, and sit there for probably an extra couple of hours while they ignore you and give you dirty looks.
