Hi there,
Please read in between the lines for my answer to your questions
that you have asked
if you need some assistance I can help you through out your trip
Apologies if any of these questions have been asked already but these are slightly more specific than I've found answer to before.
Basically me and 2 friends are flying to Dar next month. We have 3 weeks and aim to do Kili, safari and Zanzibar.
1. Do we (UK nationals) need to get a visa before flying or can we get a tourist visa on arrival? I've checked the Tanzania embassy website and still slightly unclear.
You can buy Visa's at point of entry , please make sure when you pay for your visa you get the receipt , it yellow in color you will pay about US $ 50.00 per person and its valid for 3 months
2. Getting a bus from Dar to Moshi/Arusha. Does anyone know where we can find timetable information? How often buses go etc?
The best will that you take Dar Express that departs from Dar as Salaam every day from Dar as salaam to Arusha
You should not pay more then Ths 35,000.00 per person you will get the bus ticket at Ubungo bus station that is about 10 kms out of Dar as salaam city
3. We aim to book a Kili trek whilst there. Can anyone confirm how easy it is to book a trek a few days before setting off?
Booking your Kilimanjaro trek is easy
it depends what route you would like to do , the best will be Machame route you are looking at US $ 1550.00 per person , be very careful you you will be given super offer but you will be taken for a ride
this is a price for 7 days 6 nights climb
4. For booking Kili/safari - will places take credit card or should we carry A LOT of USD?
It will great if you carry some Cash dollars in USD , make sure that you carry bills that have been printed after 2006 as the ones which have been printed before this date you will not get a good rate
With Credit Card you will be able to pay your park fees the rest you will need to pay in cash You will get cash from the Auto Man Machine but it will be in Ths
The going rate is 1600 to the dollar
5. Should we get any jabs for traveling to Tanzania?
Please make sure that you take Yellow Fever Jab its a must , this is the only jab that you will need
Please do not hesitate to ask me more questions
Please be very careful of conmen in Dar as salaam , when you take a taxi in Dar as Salaam please agree on a price then board the taxi its for the best
-snip-
Kind regards
Fizzy
Thanks in advance!!

Hi Fizzy,
Thanks for your answers - very helpful.
Do you know the times of the Dar Express at all - I've heard 6am, 7am, 8am and sometimes 9am quoted but not sure if that's correct? Will we be fine to book ticket on the day of travel?
Thanks again
Steven
Actually those are the times and you can book ticket in the day of travel.
Thanks
