Where do you guys think the best place to stay is near the khaosan rd area is. I prefere Rambutri but I am having a hard time deciding. I have been there a few times alread I have stayed at Naapark and loved it. This time I will be with my wife and dont want to stay in a hostel. Any feedback is welcome. If you got somewhere that is not in that area let me know as well. I am totally open.
You could try:

.
Now that you are older and married maybe try a different part of Bangkok so you can also use the Skytrain. You can even use a train from the airport to the city now but not to KSR area!
The Skytrain can take you to many areas in Bangkok, also connect with subway for Hualamphong and with Airport Rail Link.
Rambuttri Village Inn.
For hotel advice always include your price range.
P.S.
If you are newly married include your wife in any decision. Have more than one hotel suggestion and have her select the place. If YOU select wrong you may hear about it often, again and again, how you screwed up her holiday! This is how guys survive marriage!

I usually stay at Merry V Guest House, but it's very basic indeed so if you're going with your wife then Rambuttri Village Inn might be a better option. Still reasonably cheap but nicer rooms and a pool on the roof.
I've heard good things about the hotel which is on Soi Rambuttri.
Rambuttri Village Hotel
95 Soi Ram Buttri, Chakkra Phong Road, Phra Nakorn, Khaosan / Grand Palace, Bangkok, Thailand
One of the nicest places we stayed in Thailand. Rooms were a good size, with the two roof top pools being great way to blow off steam after wondering around Bangkok all day. There were much pricier places we looked at which seemed to feature less.
