What's more important to you? Price or popularity?

A new feature up in the accommodation area today.

Looks good! I see that the slider is even somewhat keyboard accessible, but it could really use some :focus styles on the endpoints to go along with the :hover styles.

Another improvement I'd really like is a checkbox "Only show private rooms" (and for the slider to then only take the price of private rooms into account); I like both the hostelling atmosphere and lack of snoring in my room.

Good suggestions there Sander! We're making various improvements to the accommodation area, so it's a good time to consider anything. Having some good filters is definitely worthwhile.

Location can also matter. As resorts grow, you can find yourself away from beaches and shops, or near noisy bars. In towns, near good public transport helps.

Increasingly, accommodation with wifi is handy.

On an opposite theme to Sander, If i am looking for a cheap bed, it can be annoying when a hostel shows a price of say 10euros, but when i click on that hostel i am told that it is the price for a bed in a 4 bed private room (etc etc) and so the actual price i need to pay is 40euro... Eg: If i am only looking for one bed, i would like the price of one bed to be the headline price, and not to have to look at each individual establishment page to find out if the frontline price is actually the cost of for 1 person.

Oh, and as I was discovering only a couple of days ago, it would be useful to be able to sort for certain types of service included: eg: free wifi, free parking, breakfast included, as these can make a huge difference to your choice

Definitely agree with this. A few years ago we changed this so we always show the real prices. Room prices are shown by the room, not per person.

Location sorting was in there, but has temporarily been removed from obviousness to make room for this. It will be back very soon.

Loud and clear on the filters. My only hesitation with filters as a user is that usually these are not deal breakers; I'd prefer if it had a swimming pool, free wifi, free breakfast, free parking, etc, but they aren't absolute priorities, so hiding anything that doesn't have this might actually hide something useful. Not only that, but many of these properties don't have their facilities listed very consistently. Sometimes they just mention them in their description for example. Still, I know it's a popular feature, so we will be looking at adding it!
