Hi
I'm arriving at end of October? When are you?
I will be doing the OZ ultimate tour I think on 29th October Monday. I am about to book flights, probably arriving Oct 26/27 i can't decide whether i actually do layover in Bangkok or something like that.
What are you plans? Where are you stopping over Christmas / New Year?
I am matt by the way, i'm 30 and taking a few years out from work.
Brilito:
The very very best thing you can do is purchase a "Sydney Pass".
It is a great introduction to the City !!!
o Good for a week.
o Good from/to airport on Rail
o Two site seeing routes:
o "Sydeny Explorer" - Center City -- Jump on / off at about 20 sites anytime.
I rode it twice. Once for about 2 hrs without getting off to get my bearings.
Second time to jump on and off at the places I want to see more of.
o Bondi Explorer - The outlying areas e.g. Around Huge Harbor to Ocean --Many Beaches etc. Same on / off of about 16 sites I think.
Then it also includes Three Harboursights Cruises-- Super -- Ya got get on the water -- it's Sydney you know.
o All Busses anytime
o All subways anytime.
And a trip to the Zoo ... not to be missed.
Places for on and off... just a few.
Darling Harbor -- wander arround... I liked the China Gardens... and the Aqurium !
Downtown
Opra House of course.
Kings Cross for close in and cheaper
Blue mountains are close

But the main thing I liked, was that it saved so much time.
o No standing in line for a ticket.
o No figuring out what route to buy a ticket for.
o No figuring out how much money you needed for ticket.
o No wondering if you made a mistake and need to rebuy a ticket.
Freedom --- from having to make any decisions, $$, time, schedules, routes etc.
And another thing, The people I met were super friendly and helpful.
Anytime I had a question about where to go, which train to get on ... just ask !
Update on Sidney Pass....
I just received this reply from the Sydney Transit ....
The Sydney Pass has been cancelled...A REAL LOSS !!!
It no longer has the hop on and off tour busses.. Sydney Explore and Bondi Explorer.
I'm sure some one else offers these, but they no longer are bundled and probably cost alot more.???
Here's what I got from Sydney Transit
"Dear Roger,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The Sydney Pass is no longer available. However there is a My Multi Daypass costing $21 per day for an adult and $10.50 child/concession which includes: Unlimited train travel across the entire Cityrail network (All My Multi train zones), and unlimited travel on Metro Light Rail, buses and government ferries across the network. This excludes monorail services, special event buses and tourist sightseeing buses. For further information visit the website link:

Your case reference number is: 5926365
Thank you for contacting Transport Info 131500.
Regards,"
That is too bad! I was gonna look into that, and probably use it...ah well. Thanks a lot for looking into it! Glad I know for when I get there.
