There will be millions of tourists in Thailand during your little visit. No problem meeting people in hostels, hotels, restaurants, on buses, in bars, etc. Millions of tourists visit on their own, some are little old ladies on pensions too.

What price level do you want for your hotel. Use a baht amount so we know where you want to be. Don't say cheap or economy because these things do not mean the same for everyone.

My preference is a hotel not far from the Skytrain (overhead rail service) but if you are young young visitors often choose Khao San Road area. No rail service in that area. I prefer the Sukhumvit area where you have the Skytrain, nightlife, restaurants, malls and other things you can walk to.

Price range? Where in Bangkok do you want a hotel for a few days?

Suk 11 Hostel in the Sukhumvit Road area is popular with women. A little worn now. Walk to Skytrain, etc. In the Silom and Siam area you have the Lub D Hostels. Not that far from Skytrain service.

With a hotel near the Skytrain service you can use cheap rail service from Suvarnabhumi Airport. At least up to midnight.

In Bangkok many hostels are around the same price as cheap hotels and guest houses.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty easy going on the whole accommodation thing really, money isn't too much of an issue, I'm just aiming towards a good atmosphere and I'm not much of a sleeper anyway! Did some research and Sukhumvit sounds like a good place to be since I wanna be amongst the bars, shops ect.

I am a guy by the way, don't let the British name 'Ashley' fool you haha.

Sounds like you would be better off with a cheap hotel or guest house vs a hostel!

Nana Ibis, Swiss Park, Maxim's Inn, Business Inn, President Inn, World Inn and Top Inn are in this area.

Nana Hotel is across from a big concentration of bars; cheaper hotels on this same Sukhumvit Soi 4.

Soi One Hostel is also in this area near Bumrungrad Hospital.

Thanks for your help, appreciate it

Hello,

Nappark hostel near koh San road was fab. Great atmosphere and throughout my 6 weeks in Thailand I bumped into lots of people who stayed there. Little bit more expensive than others but defo worth the price

Happy travelling
