Could anyone let me know any romantic european cities for couples on a weekend break?
You should try Paris of course, or Lyon, Brussels, Venice, Amsterdam ... All European capitals are quite romantic and very interesting !

Copenhagen is really nice, has lots to do and isn't as expensive as everyone makes out.
EasyJet fly there at very reasonable rates.
Andy.
Why not Bruges as somewhere a bit different?
I'm surprised that you feel the need to actually ask that question.
It totally depends on Your preferences - what do You want, what is "romantic" to You?
We have a lot of cities here in Europe and a lot of them can be called romantic cities actually.
Of course I think nobody will argue about this, that the most romantic city in Europe is Paris. But there are a lot more romantic, beautiful cities. Let's take for example France - in addition to Paris we have Bordeaux, Nice, Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse etc, etc. In Italy there are a whole lot of romantic cities like Venice, Florence, Rome, Milan... Central Europe: Vienna, Prague - all beautiful cities. I mean you can go anywhere starting with Paris and finishing with Tallinn.
What I would say though (and in some cases it can be negotiable), is that if you are looking for romance, you wouldn't find it in London or anywhere in Germany (Berlin, Frankfurt).
But in the end of the day it is Your choice and You have to really think through, what do You want, what are You looking for and what do You like.
Have a nice and safe trip!
Prague, Amsterdam, Milan, Barcelona and Brussels would stand out for me simply because there is something enigmatic, endearing and refreshingly pure about each of these cities.
Cheers
