The only problem is that Vietnam is a much larger place than you had thought, and train travel is incredibly slow and painful for the middle class! Did you do your research before travel - you need to be savvy about local scams (taxis in Vietnam can be a pain in the bum!). I love this country, but those who just arrive without knowing how things work usually end up complaining about what a terrible place they went to. Vietnamese people can be some of the friendliest, most generous on this planet, but they are not the ones serving tourists.
