After much research, had it all figured out (but not yet booked) - Beijing (China) to Istanbul (Turkey) to Thessaloniki (Greece), then return to Istanbul and on to Shanghai. Easy with the cheap return fare from Turkey to Greece, at the times I wanted (& at the beginning of September). As of today though, the cheap return flight times I'd factored in (to slot in with my connections arriving in & departing from Greece) are no more. Which changes things. One, because I can think of little worse than getting out of bed at 4am to catch a plane (bus, train, whatever). I like to get up at leisure, have a nice breakfast, wander around outside a bit more (whatever I can fit in), pack, shower & go to the airport either before or after lunch. Preferably afterwards
