Hostel recomendations

Hi Grant,

There aren't really any hostels around the airport, most of the accommodation in that area is more expensive international hotel chains.

The train that runs straight from the airport to Central station (AirportLink) really doesn't take long and there are significantly more accommodation options around there. Stayed at myself; found the price reasonable and as it's right on the edge of Hyde Park it was easy to walk in to the city to explore.

Hey Kellie,

Thank you for the reply, a little inexperienced on the subject as you can probably tell lol. Is the train from the airport 24 hour do you know?

Thanks,

Grant

No worries Grant, that's what the forums are here for .

The train runs a lot and fairly late but you might want to check the timetable around your flight time:

I stayed at Base off George Street and it was pretty decent, and in a good location. As Kellie says, the train from the airport doesn't take long (15-20 minutes) so there might be no need for you to stay near the airport. If you want to be close to the train station in the city, Sydney central YHA is right by it.

Grant;

1. It's not going to take a week to get over jet lag... So much in Sydney to see that ... I had No Jet Lag.

2. Why hang out at the airport ... when for a few bucks you can get a roundtrip subway pass down town.
Where you AT all that Sydney has to offer. ( Check out the Sydney pass)

3. I liked the Kings Cross area. Gentrifying and less expensive... yet within walking distance of downtown. Center

Hey guys,

Myself and my fiancee will be arriving into Sydney around the 1st of September and to avoid too much agro when we arrive we want to book a week in a hostel prior to arriving so we have somewhere to stay straight away.

Can anyone recommend any hostels for us to stay in that are located in Sydney, somewhere close to the airport would be awesome. Not too fussed about it being located to the best party spots etc as we will be looking to get overt the jet lag more than anything!

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks,

Grant
