Hi Folks
i'd say per day you're looking at...
hostel $20 per night in a dorm
food £20 per day
Then you're gonna probably want to sightsee, have a beer, catch a bus etc so perhaps another $40 a day for having fun
If you want to buy a car i reckon you need at least $3000 for something worthwhile but then you'll blow more money on fuel driving around haha.
I'm only going with $3000 total after paying for my first three acomodation so will need work straight after the three weeks
Thanks for the reply.
I was thinking around £4000, I was also thinking about going through ultimate oz as I am travelling myself but of course worried that it's going to eat into my savings quite a bit.
Have you travelled before? should it be quite easy to meet other travellers quickly.
I suppose I am just worried that after the long flight I will be sad, excited & really nervous and just don't know how I will cope with not knowing anyone when I arrive.
£4000 is pretty good
Yes i've done australia and new zealand a few times now, on my own and with people, its ok to be nervous and unsure, i fly out tomorrow and even though i've already done it all before i still get nervous haha, just take it easy the first two weeks while you get over the jetlag and then you'll be fine, you won't have no problems meeting people if you're staying in hostels, everyone is in the same boat and tend to look out for each other.
You've got plenty of time to do all the research as well if you need any help with anything just say
Amazing I am excited for you
Thanks so much for the comments, definitely helps.
Have a great time
Thanks Nic and no worries.
Hey I'm arriving Sydney early hours on 7th September hope to meet some great people, keep in touch (:
Hey I feel exactly the same about the first week. Going in my own and looking I to doing UltimateOz. Im taking about £2000-3000 and really nervous about being on my own. Flying 15th August, landing 17th would be good to meet up with some people too Emily x
I'm in Sidney doing ozintro for a week from the 8th September anyone up for meeting after the week would be brilliant x
I'm almost absolutely dreading the first week, but I remember feeling the same about University and it ended up being absolutely amazing within the first half hour of my parents leaving. So I'm guessing I'm worrying about nothing.
Taking around the same ballpark figure as you guys, and I leave on the 18th June!!
