This question is already attracting a lot of spammers. If you are a legitimate new member with a reply, please send it to CorrieW via private message.

I suggest you to go the Travel agency online or much better you would inquire in the office. There so many spammers out there. You should be alert on that. I really hope that you will get good deal. Have a nice day and God Bless.

Where you want to go, what time of the year and your budget affects what you end up with.

For me, for international travel, I book my flights directly from the airline website. (I don't do discounters or mix airlines. Same airline company from first flight to final flight home!) For long distance overseas flights I find it cheaper to buy round trip flights. This means you need an end date. Sometimes buying a one way flight is almost around the same as a round trip. Depends on the airline and maybe where you fly to. You have to do the math and compare round trip vs one way overseas and one way return.

I stick with the bigger airlines myself and fly the same company to accrue frequent flyer miles for free upgrades, free rides and free lounge use. For me a small difference in price is not enough to change to a different airline. If you only fly once every year or two and don't care what airline you use go with the price. But also consider arrival time at your destination especially if overseas. My preference for a new country is to arrive during the day or early evening since I am paying full price for a hotel room I might as well get the maximum use of the room. Also day arrivals usually have cheaper transportation options.

From cold climates such as the USA winter months flying to warmer climates you might find hotel prices higher in warm places. Also if close to Christmas and New Years holidays flights might cost more as well.

Some countries have a high season - low season for hotel room prices and availability. Low season could mean a little more rain and a little more heat if a tropical location. For visiting other locations you might need cold weather for skiing or hot weather for swimming and beach. Research the country you want to visit for best time to visit. However, some tourists prefer to visit off season when hotels are cheaper and fewer tourists to get in your way. Maybe put up with a little rain or a little more heat fora better price!

When I buy flights I don't always have the benefit for buying 5 or 6 months ahead of time. Too often I fly with only a month or two from buying plane tickets to flying out. I do vary departure dates up and back to see if the price changes. I do check if holidays or different days affect the price. Sometimes after a major plane crash fills the TV for days at a time some ticket prices might be cheaper because tour groups become afraid and cancel out and those seats are suddenly available. Prices can be much lower to fill the seats and not fly with empty seats. These extra low price go fast! If you have the luxury of flying when you find best prices you could get some good deals but you have to check prices often.

I book my own hotels. Since I now mostly return to the same part of the world (Asia) all the time I can book some familiar places with just an email request. Low season you might get by with booking rooms for the first night and the calling in or showing up with a walk-in for other nights. (But if you have kids maybe booking ahead works out better.)

You can go to to various travel forums and ask for hotel recommendations in your price range. This means you must have a budget worked up so you know how much per night you can afford for a room each night.

So, when you travel can affect the cost of your plane tickets and the cost of your flights. What you want to do affects where you go - such as skiing where there is cold and snow or hot weather for swimming and diving.

Good luck.

thanks karazyal for your helpful suggestions.Have a nice day!

When traveling, it's important not to rule out any options. Some discount airlines offer an extensive network of destinations at relatively low cost. These include AirAsia, Ryanair, Southwest Airlines, etc. Keep an open mind; and explore your options. You'll be happy that you did.

Often discount airlines charge fees for bags that exceed THEIR maximum weight allowances. Some tourists who arrive in a country with a major airline's normal weight allowance might exceed the discount airline allowance. So know what the weight allowance is for the cheapie airline and what it will cost to bring your bag on the plane if it weights too much.

Some people travel light, maybe with a toothbrush and a spare set of underwear and others perhaps with a full 70 pound check in bag! Plus carry on bag!

If you intend to return to the primary arrival city and plan to schedule another night there maybe use the same hotel again. Many hotels will store some of your stuff knowing you will return for another night. You can leave some of your extra stuff at the first hotel. If you are visiting a tropical area but your home country is cold you can leave the unneeded winter stuff in storage.

Have fun.

As with any purchase, it behooves the buyer to fully understand what they are getting. So it pays to check before you buy. In the U.S., Southwest Airlines continues to offer two free checked bags on all its flights. That's not the case with other carriers, such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. Southwest, the fourth-largest air carrier in the U.S., also has more generous rules with regard to changing flights, etc.

Some of the other international discounters, such as AirAsia, now offer "packages" that include checked bags, meals, the ability to change flights and other features. So by paying a bit more, you get more. Their fares still are often cheaper than other carriers.

Some airlines, such as Air Baltic, will check bag weights and sizes at the gate. But that's no surprise if you read what's on its Web site; and reviews from other travelers.

Change is a constant when it comes to the travel business. What may be the case in the past may not necessarily apply today.
