Hi all :D eeeek im leaving in 5 weeks to do a rtw trip for a year...on my own!! first port of call is thailand but not sure if i'll be able to go there because of the political situation,. does anyone know? also does anyone have any advice about where to stay and go? im all very knew to thi and any advice would be great

Hi! It is really exciting and at the same time nerve rocking to go RTW on your own. I also felt that on my first time. -snip- is the site of the vacation rental I stayed during my trip, I hope I helped. thanks!
Thailand will be fine, it seems like it is all dying down and it is not affecting the tourists in Thailand anyway. In Thailand you have such a great choice of places to go to.
My favourite places in Thailand are:
Pai - White water rafting, chilled, hippyness, lovely food, great hilly landscape, trekkking, hilltribes, really nice vibe
Ko Chang - A lovely island not as overdeveloped as some of them and a really nice place to hang out and chill!#
Ko Samet - The closest island to Bangkok, really nice to go there when you first arrive and just chill by the beach!
Ko Phang Yan - PARTY island, great place to meet LOADS and LOADS of travellers, home to the full moon party, mushroom mountain, Go to Hat Rin for Hardcore partying and then head to the Northern beaches to recover - trust me you will need to.
Ko Phi Phi Islands - Where 'the beach' was filmed, take the boat trip round the islands, Bamboo Island is to die for!
