Whether it is the right decision I guess is subject to why you decided to go there.
England in June (particularly the South) can be quite lovely. Wimbledon tennis is on in June if you like tennis, it can be a highlight.
I would recommend areas like Salisbury, Henley, Cambridge and Brighton. All are within a few hours of London are are all unique and have a great "flavour" or England. I used to drive the South coast to Brighton and stopped at Arundel Castle and the lovely little town there. All are lovely for countryside and crwam teas!

I live in Brighton and it is a great place to be during the summer, there is so much to see and it is only a short way away from London. It depends on what you are after though. Why have you chosen England?
A stay in England does depend on the weather, though there is a lot of indoor stuff to see if it is like the last three summers in the UK. It also does depend on what you like since England is very built up.
When are you going? Generally June to August it is very crowded everywhere.
The Lake District for a honeymoon.... Nowhere finer in the UK.
