Hey, I am also from Australia and looking to do a similar trip around the same time of year. Whereabouts in Australia are you from? I'm looking to find other fellow travellers to do it with. I have been to New York 6 times since 2007 and have a good amount of experience over there. Something like what we're planning would definately be more enjoyable if it were done in a group.
I have plotted out a few points in which I would like to see.
