Take the ferry out to Fire Island, you won't regret it. It's this Island just off manhattan and there are no cars or anything. It's got beautiful beaches and the pubs are amazing. Also, if you don't mind doing a bit of travel. New Paltz is about and hour and a half north of the city and I lived there for about 2 years and it is the most beautiful town and when college is in... It can be a lot of fun.
