Hi everyone,
I only went to Gili Trawangan (which was amazing!) and ended up staying in a fantastic place, almost like a little villa set back from the track the runs around the island and right near where all the night life is (but not so near you were right in the middle of it all). I can't remember what it was called (might have been Batu Dua bungalows), but as you get off the boat you go left, and walk for about 100 metres and it is on your right, right after the dive shop and bakery, it was amazing!
Incredible social place, get yourself down to Tir Na Nog bar, and it is impossible not to meet people - I loved it!
Hey Anna, Agree with Steve that Gili Trawangan is the biggest and probably best. Its quite lively in the day with lots of people doing snorkling or scuba trips and also at night with lots of bars.
If you are after something a little more peaceful then head over to Gili Air.
Finally, if you can muster the strength maybe give the volcano (Mt Rinjani) trek a go. We did 2 days / 1 night and found that enough as it more or less killed us!!
