Trip help please?

Not sure about flights, those vary a lot especially Jan-Feb, it gets cheaper late Jan, early Mid-Feb. That is also considered 'low' season in some places, generally cheaper accommodation. New York is just pricey, haven't hosteled there in 8 years, last time I got a hostel in NYC, it was $25 and it was a bunk bed in a huge dormitory (20+ beds) room by the bathroom. Think prices for this stuff is closer to $35-50 a night now. Never hosteled in LA or San Diego, but willing to bet 'decent' accommodation is going to be around $40 a night. Cheap food is usually pizza or McDonald, around $6 a meal. Decent meal would be $10 on average, easily hitting $20-30 for some of the 'trendier' places (that is including tax and tip..).

Also add in taxi, or car rental. Museum or other door fees. Alcohol (Are you over 21?)? Club door fees? Add in usually $100 for 'Oh Shit' money...

Hope this helps a little, and btw, its all USD.

Thank you that helps lots. Does anyone have a round about figure? around $7000

I agree with Lugor79 and his price estimates for food and lodging.

It would help your own question out a bit to simply go over to any airfare site and plug in some general dates for your travel. Then you'll have a much better idea for airfare. Then you can add that to the advice you get over here. Just a suggestion!

Good luck Seb!
