Grand Canyon North Rim - any advice and feedback?

A day trip over to Page, Arizona and the nearby Lake Powell would be worthwhile--and a visit to the "slot" canyons (or Antelope Canyon in Page is a possibility. Also, Monument Valley is somewhat close-by. Mostly, hiking in the area would be the thing to do--there should be choices if you drive just a short ways north--and, of course, you can hike the canyon--although stay on the marked trails or take a guided tour for that.

Enjoy

Here's a link to the National Park's service guide to the Grand Canyon's north rim:

It says to expect temperatures in the mid-60s during the day and below freezing at night at the rim in September--but about 30 degrees warmer if you go to the bottom of the canyon (both day and night).

Hi there! My husband and I had a week vacation in Grand Canyon last year and we also stayed at the Grand Canyon Lodge. We also stayed at the Western Cabin and all I can say is the room is clean and very comfortable. We had a quiet time together viewing the wonders of Grand Canyon and went hiking. It was the greatest vacation experience ever!I suggest you do both of hiking and rafting being named as the most to do outdoor activities in Grand Canyon. Don't forget to bring all your multimedia gadgets for shooting some cool photos and videos for souvenirs. You won't have dining problems because the Lodge offers buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Varieties of food and beverage are available for you to choose.

have a great Grand Canyon trip!Cheers!

We happened upon little antelope slot canon the small version of upper antelope. Same area, great if you like to make photos.

  • Dining in the restaurant at the edge of the canyon at sunset is a treat. Good food to boot.
  • A mule ride down, exciting.
  • Temperatures cold at night, warm in the mid day.
  • Hike into the canyon, easy going down hard returning Warm at the bottom

If you drive to Page for antelope canyon check out Marble canyon and the raft outfitters loading boats.

Have a good trip, Lonnie
