This year's weather is rather peculiar... this time should have been the middle of the rainy seasons but as of now, only the 4th typhoon has just arrived.. we should have been at the 10th or 12th typhoon already.. this was caused by a long El Nino phenomenon this year.. the rains only fell around the end of June when it should have been by the start of May... this year the weather bureau only predicts about 15 typhoons to come in the country unlike the usual 20-25 typhoons, they even predict that the typhoons might come later this year..
Anyways, yes Palawan is one of the islands in the country that is not frequented by typhoons... so if it rains there.. it usually don't last a whole day.. so it basically have one of the best weathers in the country.. Puerto Princesa is a beautiful place and it boasts of its Underground River which is the country's entry to the New 7 Wonders of the World, plus it has beautiful beaches.. Coron is best for diving as that area is rich in coral gardens... El Nido is another place which somehow combines the beauty of Coron and Puerto Princesa with its beautiful beach and nature plus islands of karsts..
Anyways, during this season, I'd say aside from flying to Palawan you can also visit the Visayan islands like Cebu and Bohol.. just don't plan on visiting the western side of the Luzon island because if typhoons come, those are the places which are usually battered by the typhoons... Cebu and Bohol are among the inner islands...

so if i read what you wrote than you say - palawan should be a good option for the end of september and i shouln't worry (at least not much:-))..
from your experience when the wet season starts late it can mean that it will be a relatively mild season or it is just going to hit hard later ?
i know i ask questions that i pretty hard to answer but i am REALLY excited a bout my choice of the philipiness and I really would like it to be possiable for me to enjoy it

How's the weather generally in November? I'm planning to spend a week in Phil before heading to Thailand. I plan to visit Intramuros (in Manila), Pinatubo Volcano Crater Lake in Zambales and Banaue Rice Terraces. I'd love to hit Batanes and the other islands but I just can't afford to right now.
Besides the weather, is it possible to go from Zambales to Banaue by road? Or do I have to come all the way back to Manila and then go to each destination? Is Mayon Volcano on the way?
