My Mam and I are wanting to go away for Christmas/New Year this year. I really can't decide where to go. I love Christmas so I would want wherever we went to be amazing..I would hate to have a disappointing time over Christmas. We went away to NYC for Christmas in 2008 and it was AMAZING! I would love to go back but we want to try something new for this year.
Christmas? Anywhere that celebrates it - is great.
But New Year? There is only one place that does it a million times better than anywhere else.... Scotland.
Hogmanay is just wonderous. Edingurgh is a great city for it - for all the culture and lights, Glasgow doesn't sleep, with the pub doors open till the last person staggers out, Aberdeen has some of the greatest music anywhere in the world on NYE - but for me, it has to be a small village anywhere on one of the islands - or the mainland where they have a good supported local pub. Endlessly magical.
My suggestion would be LA, US. This is a wonderful place for the new year celebration. Have a visit and get wonderful experience.
