Was in Dubai lately, and planned to visit other emirates, but didn't in the end. In the LP guide were quite a few options mentioned with buses going to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Al Ain, with buses going very regulary. you might check it on their website or see the LP guide in the bookstore.

Thanks for your fast reply, I can see an expres bus to Abu Dhabi for under 3 Euros, takes 2 hours.

How come you didn't go elsewhere, what do you recommend, how long were you there?

I flew back from India via Dubai and had to go back earlier as planned. Otherwise I would have fit in Al Ain I guess for something different. My first impression was not that great by the way, didn't like it. But hey, time for a new chance in the future I guess.
Flydubai is also a budget airline with good connections. As is Air Arabia, which flies from Sharjah, just west of Dubai.
