Costa Rica and New years!

KimmyKim has indicated that this thread is about Costa Rica

I spent last NYE in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. I was deeply underwhelmed. Ticos, by and large, are friendly people, and I expected them to embrace NYE. But the Costa Ricans in PV didn't seem to much care about NYE except to sell more booze to the tourists. The tourists, and myself, just spent time walking back and forth through the town. I didn't see any beach parties there. I didn't notice any restaurants or clubs that were full of revellers. All in all, it didn't seem that fun to me. That's just one small part of CR, so I'm sure there're other places that would be better.

That's my two cents.

Hej, i will be in C.R. during that time, i found this evetn -snip-
I guess i will go there, since there are all kind of activities around that event.
See you there!?!

My recommendation is to go to Coco Beach in Guanacaste, thousands of young people celebrating the end of the year there, and the night of December 31, the main Street will be filled with thousands of people drinking and dancing. Make reservations as soon as possible, hotels fill up fast.

In Costa Rica, housewives will sweep out the entire house on Dec. 31st to remove the past year’s evils and get a fresh start to the New Year. Others swear that putting water in a pan and throwing it over your shoulder will ensure that all bad things are behind you for the coming year.

This is the traditional way to celebrate the New year there as its really great option to celebrate the new year there.
