Me and a friend will be driving down the East Coast of Australia around Christmas time. We dont know where we will be exactly on Christmas eve so cant book anything and have heard its difficult to get into hostels around that time of year. Does anyone have any suggestions? My friend is thinking about taking a tent just incase!
You're right, places do get booked up very early, even now I imagine the options are pretty slim, especially in Sydney. I've booked a hostel in Sydney, I don't know where I'm likely to be either but figured I had better book something. I only had to pay a deposit and can cancel with 2 days notice, in case I end up elsewhere and can find somewhere else to stay. I quite fancied spending it in Sydney anyway!
If I were you I'd book something that you can cancel if needed. Choose a city you may be near by then.... And maybe take the tent just in case!
