quickest and cheapest way to get to vietnam from uk???

hey guys....

You could fly into Kuala Lumpur and then get a budget flight with Air Asia on to Hanoi, or fly into Singapore and get a flight with Jetstar, which should also be pretty cheap.

Dan,
You will have to check on UK flights, but I doubt you can fly to KUL or SIN w/o stopping somewhere. I think you will find your cheapest option is to fly into BKK and then over to either HAN or SGN. I think HaNoi makes more sense for you. I would use the bus down to SGN, stopping in the cities between for as long as you want. The open tour is cheaper and more flexible than using the However, trains are safer than roads. Your choice.

I have used the open tour bus from SGN to HAN and from HAN down to SGN. Send me a PM if you have VN questions. Good luck with your planning.

You can fly direct from London to Kuala Lumpur and from both London and Manchester direct to Singapore. Air Asia fly from KL to Hanoi and Jetstar fly Singapore to Hanoi.

Becky, this is why you get paid the big bucks on TP!! Well, that and once living in Manchester! It seems our boy Dan is on a tight budget. I am guessing the direct flights are a bit more dear than stopping in Dubai.
True? By the by, when are you coming to the exciting city of LAS VEGAS? You have a free room and free shows when you turn up. Mike

I suppose it just depends on what deals are around at the time, but Emirates do often have good prices via Dubai. I'll send you a PM re Vegas.

Even I like this trip!

well thanks for your info guys...

i know i can defo fly direct to SIN from the uk,as have done this before, and even got to fly on the new a380 which was an added highlight of my porevious trip!!

however i didnt realise i could then fly to hanoi from SIN,so this il look into abit more,it would be ideal i think...maybe even have a few nights in SIN on arrival, then head over to hanoi and start my trip...

budget wise,im gonna have around £4000 plus and added £3000 on credit cards for backup..my total time in asia will be around 4 months,so i think this will be ample enough...??

if i can avoid partying too much and stay away from patong/phuket this shouldnt be a problem...

thanks again guys for your help,im looking at flights as we speak!!

If you can get a flight to BKK for cheap enough you can fly to Hanoi for cheap from there. I flew to hanoi from BKK in July for around £60 and only on the flight for an hour and 30 mins!

£4000 would be suffice if you're not constantly partying! I managed thailand and the coast of Vietnam on £1200 over 4 weeks (with A LOT of shopping) so is more tha do'able!

Good luck with the flights and have a great time!
