Hello everone

Hello, I hope that everyone is ok.

Hi Will, welcome to Travellerspoint.

I always find Trailfinders the best one to go with in the UK.

Good luck with your planning and hope to see you around!

Have a good trip

Hi Will

I'm 28, from London and I'm also heading on a massive trip next year! 1yr in Central and South America for me.

I looked at flights either with StaTravel or Flight Centre, I found Flight Centre to be slightly cheaper on price, but StaTravel agents seemed to know their stuff more. There's plenty of branches everywhere in London so pop in and get a few ideas of dates / times. Then you can play them off against eachother and make sure you get the best price!

I actually ended up buying my flight (into Mexico City and out of Rio de Janiro) direct through British Airways as it was slightly less than Flight Centre (and more control as it's a direct booking), but as you're booking lots of flights with different airlines it's worth going via a travel agent.

I travelled through India and SE Asia a few years ago and we booked London - Delhi - Mumbai - Bangkok - London through Flight Centre and they were all decent airlines and cost about £800 I think (was in 2006 though).

Do lots of research on here and ask lots of questions, there's plenty to find out

Oh also - you'll get most of your jabs on the NHS, just go and see your GP (depending on where you live). I think the only ones I had to pay for were Malaria tablets.

thanks for the welcome guys.

@ Ms_Sunshine1977 - thats good to hear. i plan to stay for a few weeks. how much money did you spend while you were there? anything you would suggest?

@Beckiboo - thanks for all the info. how much did you end up spending while you were out there? also what you you suggest I must see?

thanks guys
