Accommodation Thailand !!!

Hey..
Im going to travel to Thailand from the middle of Dec. for 5 weeks.
Just island-hopping, party and try to enjoy everyday=)
I'm planning to go to the Full Moon Party on New Year's Eve. Therefore I would like to know some recommendations for good, cheap accommodations close to the Full Moon Party.

that you might look at. 50 meters from the party. I looked several that are not close to the party and they offer transport to the Full Moon Party.
Thismay help with your selection. Good luck with your planning.

thx =) I'll look it up.

Five weeks in Thailand - 35 days - make sure your visa covers that amount of time.

If you plan on using the free Visa Exemption that amount of time is only 30 days.

Are you skipping Bangkok? Thirty five days is a long time in Thailand just in beach areas.

Have fun.

of course not. I'll start and end my trip in Bangkok. so I'm planning to stay at least a week there =))

Many thx that you remind me...I will have to pay 500 Baht per day OVER STay fine =)

I really don't advise overstaying your visa. Here is an that might have you re-think your 'pay the fine' plan.

There are many good hotels in Thailand at affordable prices, you just need to contact a good tour operator for the service they will arrange one for you.

hey there Erci,

First off, I have to agree with the post above, you do NOT want to overstay. Hoever you can go to Thailand for 5 weeks and not overstay your visa, nor do you have to pay any fines. Simply contact the Royal Thai Embassy in your home country before you go, apply for a 60 day tourist visa and your problem is solved.

Secondly, the full moon party as you know is held on Koh Phangan. Koh Phangan is loads of cheap accommodation. Haadrin Beach itself, where the party is held, has lost of cheap and clean accommodation.

I also agree with the post above that 5 weeks is long, but it is only loong if you just stayed in Koh Phangan all the time. I would assume you would hop on the Haadrin Queen Ferry for a 45 minute ride @ 250 Baht and hop over to Samui for a week or two and go stay in Chaweng. There are no shortage of nightlife and parties here either and many cheap accommodtions. A week in Samui would be just about enough. I don't know if you are a diver, but even if you just snorkel, Koh Tao would be good for about 2 or 3 days. If you want to learn to dive while in Thailand (given you have much time on your hands) do your open water one dive ticket while on Koh Tao. It's the best place in South East Asia to learn to dive. The course is 4 days. While there, check out out Koh Nag Yuang. The most beautiful small island in the world. Now, almost 3 weeks of your stay is gone. If you really make a stay in Bangkok worth your while, you will need at least 4 days to go check everything out, since by now, most would need a break from the parties. Then, when you get your seond wind for partying, head for Pattaya!!!

Normally, for good cheap accommodation, I would tell you not to worry to book in advance. However, you are going in peak tourist season. Maybe just book the first two nights in each area in advance, to give you a base from where to look for something else if you don't like it, or simply extend your stay once there. Accommodation availability could run low during this time.
