solo travel in iran

i am a usa passport holder and would like to travel for 2 months solo in iran.is this possible?

As a US national you are not authorized to travel in Iran solo. You should take part in a guided tour.
The first step is to contact an Iran-based travel agent, they will automatically apply for your visa which is only for 30 days, hire a guide for you, book the hotels and etc.

Hi John,

I believe it's pretty hard for US passport holders to get tourist visas to Iran, especially at the moment with tensions running fairly high...you can try to get one through an Iranian travel agent, but even then, it's not easy. I'm an Australian citizen, it took six weeks for mine to be processed, and I did it through a travel agent.
