GP. has indicated that this thread is about Istanbul
You can easily go around Blue mosque area and find a guide for the day over there. Then you should visit Grand Bazaar and areas around the great mosques.
Rotch, Sko, thanks for your info, but...
apologize. I understand I did not explain myself properly.
I'm not interested in a shuttle bus from/to the airport and not even in a professional guide (even tho that's an interesting tip).
What I'm looking for is someone to share the stay with. I'll probably land in the afternoon so, it would be nice to have an easy night out with someone that knows the places and have a short trip the morning after. (well..provided that I'll be strong enough after 15 days in Mongolia)
I dare to say that the best definition would be Travel Companion.
Cheers

Istanbul is a very beautiful city.............a day would do it no justice! to find a travel companion
would be a little difficult..... however u could go by yourself to the old quarter area around
the "Hagia Sophia" and just stroll about soaking in the culture of this beautiful area of
Istanbul.......do visit the Grand Bazar to get a real feel of the old world vibe and budget
allowing stop at the Cigran Palace Hotel for a cup of coffee and a spectacular view of the
Bosphorus.....Cheers! hope u hve a great trip>>>>
Thanks hvbahri!
Very good hints.
Now I just need to check how these places are connected to the international airport.
